Terry Pegula continues to ruin the Sabres' front office

The Sabres had the chance to bring in a top candidate into their front office, but Pegula once again finds a way not to make it happen

Terry Pegula has been nothing but pathetic since buying the Sabres in 2011, with no playoff appearances and little to no motivation to make the team better over time. He has also put more of his time into the Buffalo Bills than he has with the Sabres.

This offseason, however, it seemed like Pegula was coming around as he made solid hires with Eric Staal and Jarmo Kekalainen to the front office. Also, reiterating his point that this would be GM Kevyn Adams' last year unless significant changes were made.

However, Pegula had the chance to add a significant piece to the front office recently. Brendan Shanahan, former Maple Leafs President, supposedly contacted Terry Pegula himself to offer his services in a President of Hockey Operations role.

This could be a huge addition for the Sabres, as Shanahan could help with front office moves, and he would make a great duo with Kekalainen. Shanahan helped to rebuild the Maple Leafs into a contender over the years, and could easily do the same with the Sabers.

But good ole Terry responded with the sentiment that we already have a President of Hockey Operations, and it’s him. It is blasphemous for Terry to even think that way, as he has quite literally accomplished nothing since taking over as President of Hockey Operations.

Fans have said for years that Pegula needs to take a backseat and hire advisors who are fit to serve in a front office. Pegula hasn’t taken any advice, and the Sabres have plummeted since.

The organization and the fans deserve better than what Pegula has fed them over the last decade, and the changes just aren’t cutting it. Not making your team better for your ego is something Sabres fans will never get behind.

The Sabres won’t do any improvement anytime soon with Pegula in charge, and until Pegula opens his eyes and sees no improvements, the Sabres will be cursed.
