Ruff Concerned With Hecht’s health, But Are Fans?

AUTHOR: | IN: Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

The title may sound harsher than it should, but it’s a good question. Today, Lindy Ruff discussed Hecht’s status and for the first time he sounded legitimately concerned for his health. Personally, I’m a fan of Jochen’s, but he has caught a lot of flack from Sabres-nation the past couple of years. Hecht has seen a decline in offensive production and has been used primarily as a defensive specialist. Now returning to my question, the team seems to have a pretty set roster, so who do you replace? It’s obvious that Luke Adam won’t be losing his spot anytime soon [...]

Buffalo Sabres – First Month An Enigma

AUTHOR: | IN: Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Buffalo Sabres completed the October portion of their schedule with a disgusting 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers, and despite the Sabres’ 6-4 record on the year, the team looks horribly out of sync. If it weren’t for the “top” line of Thomas Vanek, Jason Pominville and rookie Luke Adam, we could be looking up at the Boston Bruins, who are anchoring the bottom floor of the Eastern Conference standings.

Happy Halloween Sabres Fans

AUTHOR: | IN: NHL, Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

Happy Halloween Sabres fans.  While we started out the season with a team that was winning games practically at will, we find ourselves mired in a slump that has us yearning for something a tad bit better.  There are teams that are obviously doing much worse than our beloved Buffalo Sabres, but expectations with the new owner, and a handful of new players brought on specifically to infuse a winning mantra into the locker room have not helped – at least on the homefront this year.

Sabres Fall to Panthers, 3-2

AUTHOR: | IN: Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

Despite a no-goal call and a dangerous-looking hit, things were looking positive for the Sabres last night – at least, until it hit just under six minutes remaining in regulation. That’s when it all went downhill.

Post Game Notes – Florida Panthers

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Night, NHL, Sabres | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

I really don’t even have the words to describe whats going through my head right now.  The Buffalo Sabres play another weak home game, and walk away with another loss.  Dave has brought to life the Knee-Jerk Reaction to each game….and here is my initial reaction:

PreGame Skate: Florida Panthers

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Night, NHL, Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Florida Panthers spent the off season changing their roster and the cutlure of the organization.  The We See Red campaign was launched to market to the fans to bring them on board with the changes.  Before the last game, I staked the claim that the only red that Panthers fans and players would be seeing was the glow of lights behind their goalie.  Thanks to two goals by Thomas Vanek and a stellar effort by Ryan Miller, the Buffalo Sabres shutout the Florida Panthers on their ice.  Tonight, the Buffalo Sabres will try to replicate the success from Sunrise [...]

Post Game Reaction: Death of A Blue Jacket

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Night, NHL, Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

If you know any of the writers here on Fansided, you know we are a close knit group.  We fight, we bicker – we banter a lot, and we bet each other using our bullet-proof bravado of fandom as our sheild.  Sometimes though, that gets us into trouble.  At the end of last season, the Buffalo Sabres played the Columbus Blue Jackets in their barn, on their fan appreciation night.  No CBJ fan appreciated the way the Buffalo Sabres came in and completely disrespected a team headed for the golf course, while we continued to gear up for our first [...]

Not-So Knee-Jerk Reactions: Sabres vs Blue Jackets

AUTHOR: | IN: Game Night, NHL, Sabres | COMMENTS: None Yet

I was able to catch most of the game last night, but was unable to give my immediate, unfiltered, gonna-regret-this opinions and takes on the game. So, instead, I had a night of sleep to refine the incredibly broad, sweeping statements that I am sure are about as accurate as a Christian Ehrhoff shot from the blue line (zing!). This Columbus Blue Jackets team could be dangerous once they fit in a couple of pieces and play together for a bit. James Wisniewski was in his second game of the regular season, the major off-season trade acquisition of Jeff Carter is [...]
