THE GOATHEAD IS BACK! Buffalo Sabres revive goathead as alternate

The Buffalo Sabres resurrected a fan favorite jersey: The Goathead. Here is what we know about the Sabres new-old alternate jersey.

At last, the Buffalo Sabres have brought back the fan favorite black goathead jersey. There were rumblings that the team was going to bring them back as their third jersey next season, but now it’s official.

Earlier on in the day, a couple of radio personalities did hint the jerseys were making a comeback, so everyone had a feeling something was going to happen. And happen it did.

We won’t see what they look like until November but the vibe is very good if you’re a Sabres fan. Even non-Sabres fans are very excited that the team will be wearing the uniforms once again. We don’t know what the jerseys look like but we do know when they’ll be wearing them next season.

The classic goathead will serve as the Buffalo Sabres alternate uniform, one they had an excellent track record with.

Buffalo will be wearing the goathead jersey for 12 games next season. The first time they’ll be wearing them is on 90’s night against the St. Louis Blues.

I am VERY excited about this jersey. Growing up, I didn’t have the luxury of seeing the team in these jerseys. After all, I only saw them for one season and that was the 2005-2006 season. I think a huge reason why the fanbase loves the goathead is because that’s when the Sabres were a great team.

As you can see in the tweet from Sabres Public Relations, the team did pretty well when they wore the black and red jerseys. It brings back nothing but good memories for me and I can’t wait to see when they release the whole jersey to the public.

Is it November yet? Because I cannot wait to see what these uniforms look like. That and I can’t wait to get my hands on one. Just like the team, these jerseys are making fans happy and who knows, maybe we’ll see the team be successful with them once again.
