Buffalo Sabres prospect Brandon Biro had a night to remember, scoring both goals in a 2-1 preseason win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Brandon Biro sunk two goals in the first two periods in the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in what was a physical matchup between the Blue and Gold and the Philadelphia Flyers. Biro, who played his first full season in the AHL last year knocked down 41 points in 48 games, including 12 goals and 29 assists.

His play in Rochester earned him a one-off cameo with the Sabres where he logged 13:30 of ice time. He also scored three points in 10 playoff games for the Americans that included one goal.

Undrafted out of Penn State, Biro faced long odds to make the NHL. But his play against Philadelphia on Tuesday night will definitely give him a longer look, along with Prospects Challenge standout Lukas Rousek, who was responsible for an assist on Biro’s first goal.

With a defender in his face, Rousek made a remarkable pass to Biro, who skated down the circle and took it home. It was a phenomenal heads up play by both prospects who will see time in Buffalo this season if they continue to show sound chemistry.

Biro’s second goal came in the second period on the right wing from behind the circle. While the shot actually hit off of Alex Tuch, Biro’s on-ice awareness was on full display here as he saw an opening between three Flyers and the goaltender.

Overall, Biro is yet another prospect who played a sound game, and there have been a slew of them since the Prospects Challenge two weeks ago. Names like Tyson Kozak, Chase Priskie, Linus Weissbach, Lawrence Pilut, and Lukas Rousek have all made their presence felt this preseason.

The Sabres are 2-0 so far in the preseason, and really, 5-0 if you count the three games from the Prospects Challenge. Now they face a new challenge as they go back-to-back and face the Columbus Blue Jackets on the road tomorrow night. The latest question is, which prospect will shine next?
