2 – Eric Comrie posts a 0.915 save percentage or better

There are two types of fans – fans who follow the team on paper and fans who either tune in or read extensively about each game. The latter group realize that Comrie found himself in unwinnable situations, playing on the road and behind fringe lineups.

The result? An 0.810 save percentage and an 0-2 record. In fact, Comrie was the only goaltender on the Buffalo Sabres that lost in the preseason. But don’t let those bleak numbers fool you. Most of the goals Comrie allowed came as a result of overall bad play from lineups that faced NHL-caliber rosters.

Paper fans won’t be expecting much from Comrie, but those who look past statistics know he’s going to post a better season than he did in the tune up games. I am expecting nothing short of a 0.915 save percentage with the likes of an NHL-caliber defensive rotation in front of him.
