We have reached the end of the best win series. For the final article, here is why the Buffalo Sabres last game of 2023/2024 was the best win during the month of April. To close out the year, the Sabres faced off against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Even though the season itself was disappointing, it's always a bummer when it's the last game of the year, for me personally at least. With the Lightning in the playoffs, both teams didn't have anything to play for. Along with it being the last game of the season, there were a couple of players who were playing their last game with the Sabres' organization.

One of those guys is Eric Comrie. The goaltender is going to be an unrestricted free agent and he would get the start for Buffalo. There was only one goal scored in the period, and it was from the Sabres courtesy of Dylan Cozens who gave Buffalo the 1-0 lead.

Tampa Bay would tie the game up thanks to Steven Stamkos before Cozens scored again a couple of minutes later to make it 2-1 Buffalo. Jordan Greenway made it 3-1 before the second period came to an end and the Sabres had the two goal advantage heading into the final 20 minutes of their season.

Just past the halfway point of the third period, Erik Cernak cut the Sabres' lead into one. 15 seconds later however, Zach Benson put Buffalo up by two once again and that's how the game ended as Buffalo wrapped their season up with a 4-2 victory.

It was nice to see Comrie play well in what was most likely his final game in a Sabres uniform. Eric is in a tough situation as Buffalo has two young and talented goaltenders and wherever he goes, I wish him nothing but the best.
